Shah Mohammad Raiaan

Hello, I am Shah Mohammad Raiaan. Since I am from Bangladesh, I would like to be called Raiaan because we use our last name more often than not.  I am a 21 year old born and brought up in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.  My major was environmental science  in North South University in Dhaka where I studied for a couple of years before deciding to transfer to Winona State University last year.  The reason I chose to come here is very straight-forward, the high value of an American degree worldwide.  Since learning something new has the same extent of difficulty irrespective of the geographical location of the institution, I figured it would be a great move to go for a US degree.
My interest in environmental science as a potential career choice picked up when I was in the eight or ninth grade. Yes, watching documentaries on environmental issues on geographic and discovery channel did lure me into it. As a couple more years went by, my interest on the subject grew and here I am trying to work my way towards becoming an expert on this particular field someday. My future goals include working in the development sector with a reputable donor agency like the World Bank.
Apart from my career goals, I have a few hobbies including music, movies, tv shows, hanging out with friends and partying. However, I rate playing billiard as a hobby of mine that would rank in a more dedicated category.  Being a crazy enthusiast of the game, I never missed an opportunity to help myself to an hour or two in the pool halls of Bangladesh. I did spend quite a bit of money learning to play but redeemed a part of It in the last couple of years when I started doing well in the local tournaments.
As a person, I feel I am quite friendly and really like some time hanging out with friends, family and relatives.  I do get a bit anxious at times particularly when under pressure but also feel that a little support is sufficient for me to overcome that easily. That is all I could say about myself.

Nicholas Donnelly

I am a British student from London in my senior year at Winona State University, where I am pursuing a degree in Advertising and a minor in Sociology.  Although my home is the United Kingdom, I have spent a considerable amount of time in the United States and I am very keen to secure a position at a top American or British advertising company.  I was educated in the UK and also gained some valuable work experience in London before starting at Winona State University.  My strong interest in advertising and marketing came as a result of working in the real estate business in London.  Although I was the youngest and least experienced in the company, I achieved the highest number of sales as I realized early on the importance of creating strong advertising campaigns in order to be successful and my leadership abilities allowed me to delegate to create more sales

I am an outgoing person who also likes to lead by example and I enjoy being active.  I love meeting new people, socializing and developing new ideas.  I have a passion for sports and was a proud member of the Wellington College Rugby Squad, as well as the London Scottish Rugby Club.  I am now playing rugby for Winona State University.  I also enjoy a wide variety of other sports including tennis and I spend a good amount of time training.  Another passion of mine is photography; I also love music, art, travelling and the world of entertainment.

Left: Najeejaras Bothdamrih
My full name is Najeejaras Bothdamrih, which is almost impossible for people here to pronounce. My parents gave me the nickname Penloy and it has nothing to do with my first or last name. I’ve been living in Bangkok, Thailand since I was born. I went to a public school in Thailand and moved to an international school later on in high school. When I was fifteen, I participated in a foreign exchange student program, which I got to fly all the way from Thailand to USA by myself. I got to attend Rushford-Peterson High school in Rushford, Minnesota. I spent one whole year living with an American host family that I found to be the most fun and nicest host family an exchange student could get! They were part of the reasons why I chose to come back to Minnesota along with my personal love of the beautiful weather and the environment here.
I’m a freshman and majoring in business administration. I’m also part of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity for business students. I live in Sheehan and, so far, I’m enjoying the gorgeous view of Winona from my window!
